Their work in Cape Town is primarily focused on community development and work with vulnerable children. Ashley is a drug and alcohol counselor at the Fish Hoek Drug Crisis Center, and also teaches Life Skills classes two days a week at a local school. She also enjoys her daily involvement in the community of Capricorn, an impoverished community outside of Cape Town. Her work with the children living on the streets around Capricorn is what led her to this community, and to meeting her husband Ryan.

Ryan is involved in the music industry of Cape Town. He performs regularly and uses this platform to speak about the situation of the kids living on the streets of Cape Town. He is working on releasing his second album, and has a book coming out in 2007. He graduated with his degree in Social Development in 2006 and uses this in his work with the children on the streets and in the communities of Cape Town.  He has been in South Africa since 1999.
