About:
Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit Christian ecumenical housing ministry that builds quality, low cost homes in partnership with low-income families and the Williamson County community.  Habitat for Humanity is based on Leviticus 25:25-37 which tells us that if a brother or sister living near us becomes poor, then we must provide for them; that we must not charge them interest on the money we lend them nor make a profit on what we sell them.

Today, Habitat has over 2,100 affiliates in North America and affiliates in 100 countries and all 50 states.  Each of the North American projects is self-supporting, independently raises money, selects families, and build houses.  A family will qualify for a Habitat home only when they do not have the financial resources to purchase one through conventional means.  Over 70% of the work on each house is performed by volunteer laborers, with the selected families being required to supply at least 500 hours of work on their homes before they can move in.

Brentwood Baptist Church has allocated $60,000 from the 2006 Hope for the World offering to build a home in Spring Hill.  Kickoff for this build is in conjunction with the Great Day of Service on Saturday, May 5, 2007.  Building will continue on each Friday and Saturday through June 9 and 20 - 25 volunteers are needed on each day over the 11 days of building.

Prior building experience in not necessary to participate; all skill levels are welcome.  You may contribute by providing food for the workers, painting, roofing, installing windows and doors, landscaping, site clean-up or providing trim work.
