Position: Connection Minister
Biography: For the last 27 years, the Fairchilds have served in Brazil as full-time missionaries with the International Mission Board (IMB) of the Southern Baptist Convention. More than 300 of our members have served with them in Rio over the last 10 years. Now, retired from the mission field and on loan from the IMB, they have joined our team for at least one year.
A graduate of Houston Baptist University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (SWBTS), Ray was a pastor in Texas for eight years before entering the mission field in 1981. In Brazil, he trained and equipped churches and pastors in evangelism, discipleship, and church planting, and more recently served as a strategy coordinator with the Rio-Tennessee Partnership. He is currently working on his doctorate of ministry degree from SWBTS.
