Position: Missionary in Residence
Biography: For the last 27 years, the Fairchilds have served in Brazil as full-time missionaries with the International Mission Board (IMB) of the Southern Baptist Convention. More than 300 of our members have served with them in Rio over the last 10 years. Now, retired from the mission field and on loan from the IMB, they have joined our team for at least one year.
Born in Corpus Christi, Texas and raised in Cambridge, England, Sharon served as a coordinator for the Rio-Tennessee Partnership—resulting in 48 church plants, 50,000+ salvations, and 6,800+ volunteers. She’s also worked with children, prostitutes, and the homeless and addicted in downtown Rio. Her biggest role has been supporting her husband and raising their three sons.

The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light and the Lamb is its lamp.
